Watson Clansman's Badge
This site is dedicated to Ms. A. S. Cowper, B.A., F.L.A., Scot.
Edinburgh, Scotland, without who's knowledge of the Watson Chief and history of the Village of Corstorphine
we would not have gained the history of the Chief, his family and the surrounding area.
The Clan Watson Tartan was designed by Rev. Muir Watson while Minister at Glamis Church.
Andrew P. Watson, First President of Clan Watson Society of Canada shown here walking back from the Culloden Cairn
at Knoydart, in Pictou County, Nova Scotia, following the Memorial Service.
The Mighty Oak is the tree of the Watson Society.
It is found on the Chief's Coat of Arms and on the
Clan Badge.   (Two hands extending out of clouds are shown
gripping a young oak sapling with roots showing.) The Watsons worked with the Forrester Family in planting and care of the forests in Scotland. There were Five Oak Trees leading up the lane to the Estate at Saughton. When a school was built on this estate after Saughton House burnt the children re-planted the   five Oaks on the road into the school. This Estate is now part of the village of Corstorphine, approximately three miles from Edinburgh.
Note: The Flag of Nova Scotia is the reverse of the Flag of Scotland
